BioNest Africa Ltd. is a pioneering Tanzanian start-up focused on promoting clean energy and regenerative agriculture. The company offers a sustainable waste-to-value model that converts livestock manure a largely underutilized resource in rural Tanzania into two key products: clean biogas (branded G’energy) and high-quality organic fertilizer (branded Green’Or).
Through partnerships with The Green Economy (TGE), BioNest works directly with over 3,000 farmers and local enterprises across Tanzania, ensuring community involvement, product-market fit, and rapid adoption. By reducing methane and other harmful emissions, BioNest’s solution also qualifies as a carbon offset project, attracting climate finance and socially responsible investments.

2020BioNest Africa began
BioNest Africa began with a vision to transform waste into wealth, energy, and resilience for Tanzania’s rural and peri-urban communities. Recognizing the untapped potential of livestock manure, we set out to pioneer a clean energy and regenerative agriculture model that addresses pressing environmental and socio-economic challenges.

Our journey started with a simple yet powerful idea: to convert abundant manure into clean, adsorbed biogas (branded G’energy) and high-quality organic fertilizer (branded Green’Or). This innovation not only provides affordable, sustainable energy alternatives but also restores soil fertility and reduces harmful emissions contributing to climate change.
2022From early pilot projects
From early pilot projects collaborating with local farmers and livestock keepers, to building strategic partnerships with platforms like The Green Economy (TGE), we have grown into a community-rooted enterprise. Our integrated waste-to-value model creates a circular economy where waste becomes a resource, generating new income streams, green jobs, and climate-smart livelihoods.
2023Today, BioNest Africa stands
Today, BioNest Africa stands ready to scale up operations, aiming to serve over 50,000 households and 15,000 hectares of farmland in Northern Tanzania within the next three years.
